Allie's Ride
Ride leaves from: De Pasquale Square
This is mostly a very nice ride. There are very few good ways to get to South County from Providence, so northern riders don't tend to go this way very often. However, aside from one annoying section on 117A and 117 (it's the section on 117A that's the real problem, once you turn onto 117 the traffic gets easier), it's mostly pretty good. (Some might also object to the post-apocalyptic hellscape that is Allen's Ave., but I find that section "beautiful, in a brutal, horribly uncomfortable sort of way." The real attraction here, however, is in the title of the ride. At about the half-way point, you stop for a donut at Aillie's. I recommend the powdered-sugar, Bavarian cream.
